About

The face behind the collective

Hey y’all! I’m Brianna Vondrak, a third-year student here at Miami University and the founder of Girls Off Duty. I currently work in the Center for Student Engagement, Activities, and Leadership (CSEAL) and previously served as an intern with the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion (CSDI), where I also helped lead My Sister’s Keeper.

Creating this collective is deeply personal for me—it’s about carving out a space where Black women can rest, reconnect, and just be. Whether we’re brunching, stretching, or simply vibing, Girls Off Duty is my love letter to sisterhood and softness.

Our Why

“I created Girls Off Duty as a sanctuary where Black women can unapologetically take up space, breathe freely, and show up just as they are. This collective is about more than just events—it’s about building a community where we connect deeply, celebrate each other loudly, and live authentically without the pressure to shrink ourselves. “

What do we do?

Every month, we host intentional gatherings—from movement and mindfulness to late-night laughs and luxury. It’s all about balance, sisterhood, and filling your cup.
